What we keep
Short, because we keep little.
When you check a site
- The address you enter and the report for its host, with crops of the elements a check flagged (at most 600 px each) and one small thumbnail of the top of the page. Reports are public at
/r/<host>. We keep the latest report for a host until someone scans it again, which replaces it, or until its owner asks us to remove it. - Your IP address, for rate limits only. To cap new scans at five an hour per visitor, we store a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and it expires after one hour.
- Records of scans in progress or failed expire after 24 hours.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no cookies, no analytics or advertising trackers.
- The scanner never logs in to the sites it checks, never fills in forms and never keeps copies of whole pages. See the scanner page.
- We don't sell or share what we store.
